About
The Delta Buddy Pass rules refer to the specific guidelines and conditions that govern how a Delta Air Lines employee can share discounted standby travel privileges with a non-employee friend, known as a “buddy.” These passes allow the buddy to fly on Delta flights at a reduced cost, but they come with strict rules. Travel is always standby, meaning there’s no guaranteed seat, and buddy pass users are low priority on the standby list—behind employees, their immediate family, and other eligible travelers. Buddy pass travelers must follow Delta’s dress code and conduct standards, typically requiring business casual attire and respectful behavior, since poor behavior can reflect badly on the employee who issued the pass. The pass cannot be sold or transferred, and only designated individuals may use it. Though it offers significant savings on airfare, users still pay applicable taxes and fees, and must be flexible and patient due to the uncertainty of seat availability.
